Can I Eat A Plant Based Diet And Use Whole Food Multivitamins?

Looking into a good whole food multivitamin to supplement a vegan or plant based diet, you need to first look at the benefits of the vitamin. Can I eat a plant based diet and use whole food multivitamins? Well there are so many ingredients inside

these little pills. One has to believe that they can be nothing but healthy for you. If you combine this with a plant based diet, is it too much? I have taken multivitamins in the past that have made me sick and had to stop them completely. Those were synthetic options that I didn’t realize were synthetic. You have to look at all options and ingredients when choosing. Here is what I look for.

What’s in whole food multivitamins

I have narrowed down the options that I like to have in a whole plant based multivitamin. Vitamin A will support good vision, a healthy immune system, and cell growth. Vitamin C is an ascorbic acid, that is a water-soluble vitamin that is naturally present in some foods, it is said to fend off colds. Vitamin D is a fat-soluble secosteroid responsible for increasing intestinal absorption of calcium, magnesium, and phosphate, and multiple other biological effects. Really helps the digestive track. Vitamin E is an antioxidant that helps in preventing free radical damage to specific fats in the body that are critical for your health and naturally slowing aging. Vitamin K are fat-soluble vitamins the human body requires for complete synthesis of certain proteins that are prerequisites for blood coagulation. Really helps the health of you red blood cells. Folate can treat certain types of anemia. It’s also given to women who are pregnant or who plan to become pregnant. Vitamin B12 this water-soluble vitamin plays a key role in the normal functioning of the brain and nervous system via the synthesis of myelin (myelinogenesis), and the formation of red blood cells. Calcium is a Parathyroid hormone and vitamin D promote the formation of bone by allowing and enhancing the deposition of calcium ions, allowing rapid bone repair and growth. Iodineodine reduces thyroid hormone and can kill fungus and bacteria.

What are the benefits of multivitamins

Finding the right whole food multivitamin has to have options that provide excellent health benefits to your brain, heart and eye health. I have found a few vitamins that have these following antioxidants that support brain function, eye health and heart. Resveratrol, CoQ10, Rutin f, Organic Decaf Green Tea, Organic, Ceylon Cinnamon, Lycopene from Tomatoes, Organic Ginkgo Balboa, Lutein and Zeaxanthin, Organic Ginger root extract, Organic Turmeric root extract, Astaxanthin, Organic Grape Seed extract.

If you find multivitamins that fall short on these antioxidants, then why bother. I have taken other products to help my health and really I didn’t feel any difference at all. So that is why I started researching with different ingredients and these are the ones that work best for me. I did a review on a multivitamin that has all these options. >>Check it out here.<<

Will you be sick if you have both?

I was looking for options that won’t make me sick. In the past when I found vitamins that had the ingredients I wanted, something made me sick. Not like deathly sick but pains in my crotch area. I never did find out what it was that made me sick but I know it had a high amount of vitamin E. When vitamin E is in the body it has a relationship to prostate cancer.
There are claims that Vitamin E slightly increases the chance of prostate cancer. I don’t know if that was the reason but like I said I never really put my finger on it. I know that quality food and daily exercise are better for your health and really help all these vitamins do their job better.

I found that eating nutriet-dense foods will help your body fight any feeling of being sick. Some of my favorite foods that I like are kale, seaweed, garlic, potatoes, blueberries, and dark chocolate. Remember nutrient-dense foods.

Are the whole food multivitamins better than synthetic vitamins?

Whole-food supplements are made of blends of concentrated, dehydrated whole foods, sometimes with added vitamins and minerals. The body can use and absorb them better because the nutrients are combined as they are in natural foods. Choosing between low-potency whole-food supplements and higher-potency, regular supplements depend on your eating habits, your health, and why you want to take them. Whole-food supplements might be right for you if you’re in good health and really do eat a real-food, mostly organic diet.

Synthetic are man made in a lab. Really? Why would you even try these? Some offer a combination of both so they can rate or certify them. If the government programs say you can get away with small amounts of synthetic options, they are going to do it. It saves on the production costs. I want you to remember these are just my thoughts and I don’t have any proof that the synthetic options are unsafe. I just feel if I have a choice, I’m always going whole and organic options. Makes sense right?

There are many different options when it comes to finding the right vitamin for you and your family. If you have the options between whole foods or man modified, which would you put in your body. It wasn’t to long ago I would put anything in my body that tasted fantastic and nice and greasy. Well an extremely high blood pressure and over 350 pounds later, I finally wised up. I have made it my passion to not put any more poison in my body.

I have found a great option that my family uses. We have not had any issues and have felt absolutely fantastic. I wrote a review for this multivitamin and really invite you to read about it more before you decide anything. You can check out the review here. >>Click here<<. I would love to here if you have options you use? Have you had the chance to compare?

Why is this multivitamin a good choice

This multivitamin is from all organic whole foods. They claim to have taken all the nutrients of all our favorite vegetables and packed them into a small pill for us to easily benefit from. I have had great success with this vitamin and has provided me with extra energy. Here is a list of all the vitamins that are in this little pill.

Vitamin A – From 100% natural beta-carotene, we never use the cheaper synthetics.
Vitamin C – Extracted from real, delicious Acerola Cherries – NOT the synthetic ascorbic acid you find in all other multivitamin brands.
Vitamin D – Plant-based vitamin D3 from Lichen, not the animal-sourced Lanolin.
Vitamin E – Extracted from Organic Rice Bran, one of the richest natural sources of this vitamin
Vitamin K – Naturally-sourced vitamin K2 MK-7, not the less effective vitamin K1.
Folate – Quatrefolic – the active form of Folate, which can be absorbed by your body without conversion, unlike Folic Acid which cannot be absorbed by people with the MHTFR gene mutation.
Vitamin B12 – Only naturally-sourced, active Methylcobalamin, never the less effective Cyanocobalamin.
Calcium – Plant-based Calcium is derived from Algae. Most calcium supplements use cheap Calcium Carbonate derived from crushed rocks, which can lead to the formation of plaque in your arteries and increase your risk of heart disease.
Iodine – Iodine is extracted from real Organic Kelp. They use chemically-synthesized alternatives such as potassium iodide or sodium iodide. Plant-Based Antioxidants for Your Brain, Heart and Eye Health

What are some con’s that I have found.

I’ve done plenty of research I noticed some customers had really bad experiences. I had great success with this product. They noticed that they would experience headaches after consuming this vitamin. Some people also experience stomach cramps causing them to discontinue taking the vitamin and the cramps stopped. Most of what I found out was the taste. They said the taste was horrible and would never take the vitamin again. Others had an issue about the price.

Would I continue to use this multivitamin?

I would and will continue to use this product. I like the way it makes me feel. I don’t use it every day but try to as much as possible. If I am feeling like I need a boost, I will take it. I love the fact that all the ingredients are organic and are free of allergens. They don’t have sweeteners or artificial colors, which probably is why some don’t like the taste. This product is made in the United States. This is very important for some customers.

This product also has rave reviews from bodybuilders. They claim that this vitamin absorbs in their body far better than what a synthetic vitamin offers. As someone who exercises regularly, I find this vitamin very helpful in pushing through my workouts. This product boosts motabolism which provides a great benefit for weight loss.

This multivitamin also helps with inflamation. When inflamation happens in your joints it puts stress on the immune system and is a leading cause of disease. Another benefit is that it helps with your digestive system. Which is probably another reason why people had issues with cramps and headaches. Some believe that if they would just wait until the digestive system clears itself out, that thr cramps would subside.

Have you or any of your family or friends used this multivitamin? I would be happy to talk about this product and give this information to Naturelo.

List Of Foods On A Vegan Diet – Start Eating Plant Based

When you decided to read this information, you have probably already made the decision to go vegan or what I like to call a plant based lifestyle. Your probably putting together a list of foods that you can eat on a vegan diet. I suggest to start eating plant based. Reading labels and understanding what is in your food is critical to ensure that you are staying true to your goal.

I have had this happen to me all ready, I went to the local grocery store and purchased an organic soup base thinking I had a vegan soup base. I got home and realized that it actually had dairy in it. I took it back and replaced it with an organic vegan soup base and the crisis was avoided.

When your doing your shopping, it is smart to come up with a list of foods that you can eat on your vegan diet. Eating plant based not always be the easiest thing to look for but it just takes a little time to organize. A lifestyle is all about organization. I would like you to see some of these options I have come up with.

Foods For Breakfast

  • Tofu – this is a great egg replacement and can be used in any combination of an egg breakfast. Burritos, egg sandwiches, and even different combinations of quiche dishes.
  • Organic banana bread – This is a great breakfast filler when your in a hurry. Of course you have to make it in advance. When your going to work, there is nothing better than this banana bread with coffee. Zucchini bread is a winner also
  • Oatmeal – A good organic oatmeal is something everyone should at least eat 2 or 3 times a week. The benefits that oatmeal provides for your heart can not be beat. I noticed that myself getting control of my own blood pressure. Also you can add any type of fruit to add to the flavor if you have a problem with the taste.
  • Smoothies – Again this can be any combination of fruits and vegetables. You will need a blender or juicer, I actually wrote a review on a couple options. Click here to see review.
  • Organic cereal, granola – This is my wife’s favorite and to be honest it can be quite expensive. This is one of these items you can add fruit to as well, if you want that extra boost.

I love these for lunch

  • Chickpeas – These can be used in many ways. My personal is my homemade hummus. I make a large batch at once and keep it in a container in the refrigerator. I will actually take about a 3/4 cup size to work. It gives me energy and curbs my hunger.
  • Tempeh – I have sliced these up and fried them the night before. Then warm them up and put in between to slices of organic bread. Very good, quick sandwich. You can put any type of condiment you want on it, but watch what you use because it could get unhealthy quickly.
  • Again Tofu – Same as Tempeh, I will make a taco out of this using it as the meat. You can use your imagination.
  • Organic brown rice – This is one of my favorites, I will make a tomato, cucumber, mint and onion mix and actually mix them together. Add a little salt and olive oil. You can eat this hot or cold.
  • Kidney beans or any beans – These are a great protein boost anytime of the day. Can eat them cold, hot or in any type of meal.
  • Sweet potato or potato – My family call these options our pizza night. We will slice either or both together as wedges or quarters. Mix with a bit of organic olive oil, Himalayan salt, pepper and some basil. We bake them until they are crispy. Fries anybody?

Snack time can be challenging and need to battle cravings

  • Granola – Same as above. If you can always have this available anywhere you are, you will always have something that will get you to your next meal.
  • peanut butter – PBJ, that’s all I have to say about that! Make sure the jelly is organic. Peanut butter and jelly sandwich, if you were wondering.
  • Kale chips, banana chips, or dried fruits – If you have a dehydrator, you can do this as cheap as possible without spending a ton on packages of dried fruit.
  • Nuts, sunflower, pistachios – Nuts, nuts and nuts. Anytime you can incorporate nuts into your diet, it is a protein boost to will last you throughout your day.
  • applesauce – There are grocery stores out there that have organic apple sauce. If you have a food processor, I would get a bag and make it any consistency you want and add flavors.

The family meal time, finding the right options to please everyone

Instead of providing a detailed list for dinner, all the items above can be used in any variety or combination to make a 100% healthy meal. Because your day could end up being a very busy, time consuming adventure, it maybe hard to work in the all the fresh vegetables. Here is your chance. I always mix in stir fry’s using the brown rice you may have cooked earlier for lunch. When I make it, I make sure I use the rice cooker so I can use left over rice for an additional meal.

There are all kinds of variations of salads. Imagine adding some of the dried fruit or cooked Tofu or Tempeh as a chicken replacement on a Caesar salad. You get the point. I also use Tofu or Tempeh for any meat replacement. Personally I like Tofu the best. The secret to good cooked Tofu is making sure you get as much moisture out of it as possible. Then as I’m cooking it in my wok, I can see when it is dry. I will add a bit of organic olive oil just to brown it up nicely to have the ground meat texture. I will use that in any variation like spaghetti or what ever your favorite combination you would use meat in.

I hope I am laying the foundation for you to come up with your own variations of your old recipes. It can be done. One thing I want to remind you of is to make sure your using organic brands and look at the labels to make sure they are dairy free and have no animal by products in them. A little planning can go a long way.

What is the benefit of eating plant based

So let me ask you what is the benefit of eating a plant based diet? I can give you one reason, how about health? Before you start, I would track your blood pressure and take as many vitals as possible. After eating your vegan diet or living your plant based lifestyle for a few weeks, check them out again. I am willing to bet you are feeling better, losing weight, and blood pressure dropping considerably. Also I want to make sure your aware I am not a doctor and these are only my beliefs. If you have serious health conditions, please go see your doctor before you do what I have done. Has anyone had the success living this lifestyle as I have done? If so I would love to hear your story and have a conversation on some of your ideas. Please give me some comments, I am really interested!

Are plant based meal plans for beginners healthy for you?

Beginning a plant based diet can be a huge challenge. Not everyone can handle the changes and will likely quit with in a week. Some make it a few weeks but most quit because of the life long habit of eating meat and dairy products. When I started my plant based lifestyle and was looking for options, I asked myself, are plant based meal plans for beginners healthy for you?

I wanted to make sure that if I would have meat and dairy withdraws, would I be able to make it through. I needed to know why would I feel with draws and how can I get over them. Well, I was doing my research and I discovered you can get some help with pre-packaged vegan meals. These options will help you transition to the plant based lifestyle.

>>- I did some reviews on a couple plant based meal plans, click here to read-<<

Again, I further wanted to know the reasons why it’s healthy and why would I go through withdraws. If you’re like me, you may have some concerns that I would like to talk about in this article.

Why are there withdraw symptoms

When I was researching how to lower my very high blood pressure, I discovered the plant based diet. It really wasn’t a diet as in terms of someone selling a plan, it was simply incorporating plant based foods into my life. I also read that meat and dairy products are very bad for you. Now some people will jump all over this and say you need meat to get you’re protein. I will get into that a few paragraphs down the article.

First of all why the withdraws? To simply put this, you have lived you’re whole life eating meat. Your body has never experienced not having the animal fat that it had been processing all this time. Same with dairy. Imagine this, from a young age you’re eating dairy with you’re cereal. Your body grew accustom to storing that animal fat to burn at a later time. Being young most have so much energy that you’re body actually burns most of it. What happens when we start getting older. You got it, we store it and don’t get it burnt off.

Your body is like a machine, as it works through time, it develops the markings of time. I hope I made that make sense. It’s like forensics when a gun is fired it leaves the markings of the activity. So if you’re body has been accustomed to storing this animal product, that is want it knows to do.

When you make the change to a plant based diet, you’re body say’s “wait a minute, I don’t know how to work this, I have nothing to store”. At first, you will feel great because you’re burning everything eat, but I noticed after a few days, my body started craving the storing of animal fat. That is the reason for withdraw symptoms.

Feeling better? You don’t realize it until you actually do.

As I worked through withdraws of no animal by products, I had to keep focused because the world will not let you forget that it wants you to continue eating those products. You can see that on TV all day long. So I had to work on it. Something started to change. I started losing weight, I started feeling way more energy. I didn’t feel tired anymore after I ate food. Matter of fact I felt amazing. You truly never know how bad you feel until you start feeling good. The withdraws subsided quickly once my body adjusted to actually burning what I was eating and not in storing mode.

One thing I was trying to figure out was my daily meals. I needed help. I looked into vegan prepared meals. I thought they would be like anything else, too much processed products. They were not. They actually have less sodium and very little oil. I actually had room to flavor them to my liking. Check out my review, click here.

I challenge anyone to a plant based lifestyle and please share you’re thoughts in the comment section. I would love to be able to converse with others on this topic even if you feel differently.

Do you need the high protein of animal products?

No, and I am a living testament to this. Now I am not a doctor or a nutritionist, I can’t give you advise for you’re health. You need to see you’re doctor to make the best plan for you. I am only telling you my opinion. I have talked about protein in a recent article and actually broke down some of the best protein options. You can check that out by clicking here. Truth is living a high protein diet can actually cause more harm to you’re body. The protein really isn’t the problem, it’s the bad fat that comes with it.

Disease is possibly a by product of this type of high animal protein diet. Just look in the world today. The countries that eat more of a plant based diet have much less disease. Just look at the United States, one of the leading countries in obesity. One of the highest countries with type 2 diabetes.

You can get more of you’re daily protein just by doing a plant based diet. Plus you don’t have the fat that stores on you’re body and so hard to work off. To me this makes sense. Oh did I also mention, my blood pressure is back to normal levels, I have lost 80 pounds and still going. Why wouldn’t I do this?

They have everything you need in one punch

Finding the right meal plan for you would be a great idea. Our busy schedules do not allow for us to every single day Healthy Plant Based Lifestyleprepare and cook a meal. Especially with children. These meals are quick, easy and are strictly plant based. Great for the kids after school as well. I would always use the meal plans to keep on track. I still cook my regular meals as well.

Why wouldn’t you try to use these plans for controlling you’re plant based diet and you’re meat and dairy cravings. They don’t have the animal by products, which means the fat intake is very low and they also have plans for weight loss as well. I also wrote that in the review if you want to see, click here. If you’re a beginner, I would use these all day long until you have mastered you’re plant based lifestyle. Please remember these are purely my thoughts and opinions and by no means backed by a doctor. I would love to hear you’re comments and have a full discussion on this topic or any other plant based topic. Please give me some comments. Have a great and healthy day!

Reviewing vegan meal plans for delivery – are they worth it?

As I embark on this plant based lifestyle, I often wonder if there was an easier way to purchase vegan food on such a busy schedule. I started reviewing vegan meal plans for delivery, I wondered are they worth it?

I am very happy to go shopping on a regular basis either daily or every few days. However, at first I was concerned that I would not be able to keep up with this process, just to live healthy. I started searching out for the services that would help me free up some time by ordering food online and having it delivered. I found that there were tons of different services available. However, what I needed was vegan services which would provide fresh foods and meal plans.

What I found was interesting

I searched around and found quite a few actually, but my concern was the freshness of the food. The meal plans I found were all prepared meals that you put together. Now shopping for myself, I had to buy fresh and then spend the time cooking it as well. Prepping all the fresh fruits and vegetables.

When I was not living my plant based lifestyle, I lived off prepared microwavable meals that saved me time. I would bring them to work and if I got home late, I would cook them. Problem was they had so much processed foods in them they were far more unhealthy. One reason I had so much health problems.

I used these 2 options that I am reviewing for you now.

Order Here

First one is PlantPure vegan meals. Yes I saw the movie, that was the first one I looked into. PlantPure vegan meals also claims that by  eating their meals that you can lose a lot of weight. I would have to say, they are right. There are just too many testimonies to tell me differently.

What I do like about their meals is the fact that you still have to cook them and can do it to your own taste. They decided to prepare these meals with very low sodium and no types of oil. This allows you room to add salt to taste. A quick tip I always go by, I never use iodized salt (white), I use Himalayan salt (pink). I know that the less amount of salt is the best, but I believe it is the more natural option.

The packages come flash frozen. You don’t have to be there to receive the packages but I would at least make sure to be able to get them into the freezer as soon as possible. They usually can last if your at work and can’t get to them until your home. Also, it will take a bit of planning on your part when it comes to ordering. It does take 7 to 10 business days for delivery.

This option may provide a quicker delivery.

I am a big fan of If you want an option that can deliver with in 4 days maximum, this maybe the option. They actually have a map that explains the delivery times. Southern California has the quickest time of one day. for busy people who love to eat The further you go east the longer it takes. North eastern U.S. is four day delivery.
Always Free Shipping on Meal Orders $199+ at!

The meals are shipped in an insulated box that is packaged with dry ice. This allows you to also be able to work all day and put your packages in the freezer when you get home. Also, one thing I loved was the meals are packaged in a 100% compostable and recyclable container.

I also love the fact that you can order your meals Ala-cart. You can make your meals with any combination you want. They also have several packages you can choose from, including for the kids. They have a weight loss package with some great testimonials. Most of all they prep their product with less salt and oil also so you can make it the way you like it. They also recommend heating your meals in an oven or pan on the stove. Something I personally do anyway.

Health benefits for both.

Both products lay claim to all kinds of health benefits. They are right because they both use mostly organic ingredients, about 96%. They both have claimed to help reduce blood pressure and cardiovascular disease. Some people have actually reported their arteries have actually cleared out, which shows the reduction in their blood pressure. Plant based living can also reduce the risk of cancer. Many organizations claim that by living a high meat and dairy protein diet, your risk increases by 4 times of dying of cancer.

Type 2 diabetes is one of the most common diseases that shows improvement from a plant based diet. Their chances of getting the disease actually drops by 34%. Some have even been able to reduce their insulin and some even came off it all together. I’m not a doctor, nor do I have any proof other than just reading claims of organizations. I will say this though, I know how this has changed me and I challenge anyone to prove me wrong. Comment section is a good place to start.

I would give these services a chance

Here’s the deal, living a plant based lifestyle is not easy and finding options to help you save time is well worth it. You definitely don’t want to jeopardize your health. With these products that won’t happen. They are great fillers for your regular diet. Now and then we have those days were you don’t have time and need this option. It’s great for the kids too after school.

You still have to go to the store to buy your fresh produce. I would still do that. While going to the store, it is very easy to fall back into buying the processed single or family meals that are cheap and easy. Why wouldn’t you at least put these meals in your freezer so you don’t have that urge to purchase the options, however easy, but put stress on your health.

Weight loss is another reason I would do either of these options. Maybe you do decide to eat these meals as your daily meals. There is nothing wrong with that. I would be willing to bet you will start feeling better with more energy. That would be a great alternative to those old frozen meals we used to buy, Right? I’m curious if anyone has tried these meals or other options, please share. I love trying anything that helps me live better!

Omega J8006 juicer reviews, is it clean and safe?

Click here to see the Omega J8006 Juicer

Living a plant based life style, I have worked very hard at making sure my health is in tip-top shape. I want to know the Omega J8006 juicer reviews, is it clean and safe? Living that lifestyle has ensured me that our house really has no issues with meat bacteria or any type of cross contamination. Now if you are someone who is still trying to decide if juicing or living this lifestyle is something that will work for you, then you may want to make sure the juicer doesn’t have anything that can get cross contaminated. Cross contamination can be a serious issue especially if you are handling meat products and dairy products. So I would want to know the Omega J8006 juicer reviews, is it clean and safe? My family would be using this and taking the juicer apart, I want to know if this fits the bill.

Will it work and fit in my kitchen

Looking at the Omega J8006 Nutrition Center  the style and design has a smaller and longer look to it. Not having very much counter space and cabinet room, we needed something that will not only sit on our counter but not look like it was using the whole counter space. At 8 and 1/2 inches tall, 7 inches wide and when fully assembled 11 inches long, it looks like it belongs on the counter. A lot like a coffee machine or something on that line. So for us it fit our space. It does weight 16 pounds, so if the teenagers are trying to use it I would recommend keeping it in a location that is easy to get to.

The electric motor for the Omega J8006 juicer is very quiet. The juicer will sit very nicely on you are counter with no worry of it shaking and walking itself off the counter. It runs at 80 rpms which is a very low speed and that is why it is so quiet. What that does for you is extracts every last bit of juice out of the fruits and vegetables. You know this by the way the waste product comes out into the waste pan, which is included. The waste is dry to touch, meaning you got all the nutrients and juice in the juice container, which is also included. A great tip to know is because of the speed of the motor, the juice you extract can actually be stored for up to 72 hours in the refrigerator. The reason being is it prevents oxidation of the final juice product. Another great feature is that it has a 15-year warranty. I can’t even get that on my car. LOL.

How easy is it to use

One thing I want to say is this model is great for leafy greens. It does very well with the heavier vegetables, however I have heard from other people that they had issues of the filter screen cracking on heavier items. That being said, we have never had any issues. I wouldn’t recommend using it for commercial use or large family events. If you are looking for a juicer for heavier use I would definitely check out some of these options by clicking here, Other options on Juicers. I can write reviews on those another time, It’s all about the Omega J8006 now.

The product shoot is about 1 and 1/2 inches long and it comes with a nice little plunger to help guide the produce down into the auger. The auger is designed to pull the product into the juicer. The produce passes through the auger several times. This is why it extracts all the juice and the waste product comes out nice and dry. One really nice feature the Omega J8006 does have is the reverse button. If you do happen to get something plugged in the auger it will back it up to help unclog or unplug. Another reason why this model is such a great choice is because it is an auger model. The centrifugal models do not work very good on green produce.

Clean up

Over all this model is very easy to clean up after. All the parts easily come apart and clean up nicely in soapy water. They are also dishwasher safe if you put everything but the motor on the top rack. It does come with a nice little brush that gets into areas that might just be too hard to clean by hand.

After clean up is done, the assembly is very simple. The pieces pop right back in place and you are juicer is ready to roll for you are next round of juicing. As I mentioned above if you are dealing with cross contamination possibilities, it is nice to know that you can put this in the dishwasher and not have the possibility of missing something cleaning by hand. No matter what, I would always look everything over very carefully to make sure that nothing is missed. One thing that has always bothered me is food appliances sitting for a day or two and then using them. You never know what can grow as they sit. Do you ever think that way, let me know below in comments, I love hearing that I’m not the only one who worries about bacteria. LOL.

I would give the Omega J8006 Nutrition Center a chance

I love the Omega J8006 juicer. It cleans easily, it looks great and it has so many other uses. Did you know you can use it as a food processor? You can also grind coffee and make pasta. The juicer comes with 5 different pasta nozzles to make some great tasting noodles. Bottom line is someone can always find reasons why not to buy one, but I have so many reasons why you should.

How do I find one and what’s the price

There are many ways to find the Omega J8006 Nutrition Center but I am going to make it easy for you and also provide you with some other options on Juicers. I look at this as an investment into my families health and well-being. This will run you about $268.00 to feel better and if you do it regularly, you may find yourself loosing weight as well. If you have or had any experiences with this model or any other juicer model, please let me know in the comment section. I would be willing to try others as well.

Would you buy a juicer or a blender on a plant based diet?

Last year I changed my life forever, I decided to live a plant based lifestyle. My health was in such a poor condition that I felt I needed to get a huge life insurance policy so my family will be taken care of. Crisis avoided by going plant based. I wondered how I was going to do this and the question arose, would you buy a juicer or a blender on a plant based diet. I started doing research on both. What I found was both had advantages and disadvantages. If you consider that a problem while you’re eating plants. Right?

Juicer advantages and disadvantages

Looking into a juicer the first thing that popped up and grabbed my attention was of course the price. They are not cheap. However, buying a grill to cook steaks on isn’t either or a fryer for frying, so I put that to the side. Price really doesn’t matter if you’re doing this for you’re health. Just saying.

I found that juicing separates the juice from the pulp. It allows for a much soluble fiber that absorbs water in you’re intestines. That supports healthy bacteria in you’re stomach. Juicing is a great option when it comes to cleansing and detoxing you’re system. If loosing weight is one thing you’re trying to accomplish, then I definitely would buy a juicer. It is the most popular option when people are considering this type of change.

When I was looking at the disadvantages, I really only found a few things that others mentioned while doing research. They are expensive and much harder to clean. That’s it, everyone seems to love their juicers.

If you wanted to look and compare the different models and styles, check out the juicer.

Blending advantages and disadvantages

This is my personal favorite just because I like the fact that I get everything from the fruits and vegetables. It separates nothing. For me that means it has a much more insoluble fiber. At 50 years of age it fills me up and keeps me much more regular in my stomach and a much better stool. Blending helps me maintain my weight while getting all the nutrients in the final product. Also, my favorite advantage is you can add super foods to the blender.

  • Blueberries
  • Acai berries
  • Goji Berries
  • Cacao if you’re blending a shack with almond milk.
  • Chia seeds
  • Hemp seeds

That’s just naming a few, you get my point. Because, you are drinking more of the pulp it allows you’re body to absorb the sugars much slower balancing out my sugar index. I feel great with much longer energy levels. That’s just me though, you will have to decide for yourself. A blender is also much cheaper and I feel I use it for other purposes as well. It is much easier to clean also.

Well I would actually like feed back on this, if any of you have any thoughts on disadvantages. The truth is it is my favorite option and absolutely love blending. Let me know you’re thoughts in the comments section below.

If you wanted to look and compare the different models and styles, check out the blender.

What about benefits of both

Here is my thoughts on this, how can it be bad to put more fruits and vegetables into you’re diet on a daily bases? Both of these options provide great benefits with fiber in you’re digestive track. The health benefits alone should be enough for anyone to want to take the next step and add either the juicer or blender to your kitchen arsenal.

I have a history of health issues in my family, mostly cardiovascular disease. Just by doing either of these options you can actually decrease you’re chance of a stroke by 26%. Now, I am not a doctor and I have only found this information while doing the research myself on the health side of it. Also, Alzheimers disease is something I have my own thoughts on as well. It is said that by adding vegetables it can help prevent or prolong the progression on this disease. That is another reason I moved to a plant based diet. I feel that with all the growth hormones provided to the animals we consume, is a leading cause as well. As well the chemicals that we put on the non organic produce. That is another article for another time.

I will say this though, I live a plant based lifestyle and have made changes, this is just one of them. In my opinion it is completely up to you which route you would like to go. Whether you blend or juice you are making the change for you’re health. I have lost over 80 pounds and reduced my blood pressure down to normal, all by exersise and changing my lifestyle. If making changes either way makes you feel better and live longer, wouldn’t you do it anyway? If you’re looking to purchase either one pick the one that you will continue to use every day for your family’s health.

A few quick tips

Remember that if you’re combining different fruit juices to either blend, you could be effecting the final product. If, the sugar levels are high in the juices, then you’re kind of defeating the purpose. Even the frozen fruit have all kinds of additives and sugar. Remember to read all the labels before you blend everything together. Also, one mistake many people make is adding too many fruit to their juicer or blender. If you’re trying to lose weight it might actually slow weight lose down. I like to blend straight vegetables and every now and then I will add some kind of fruit. Remember I mentioned the super foods? I actually add more of those to make the most healthy shake.

If I don’t feel like pulling out the food processor, I will use my blender to blend ingredients for my vegan burgers and hummus. So there are other things that you can use a blender for.

Please let me know what choice you decided on and the reason why. I love hearing why because many times people come up with reasons I never even thought of.

How to gain muscle on a vegan diet? I did it this way

Howto gain muscle on a vegan dietAfter a few months of my family’s choice to go on a plant based diet, I had many friends asking me what are you doing? They noticed I had lost over 40 lbs and was starting to look way different. After asking me how do you keep building muscle on this diet without meat or protein? Well here is how to gain muscle on a vegan diet. At first, I didn’t even realize what I was doing until I started looking up the foods we were now eating. I would like to share what we did. This isn’t by doctors orders or anything like that, it was just food we loved to eat. Check with your doctor before you do what I did.

How much protein do you really need

According to what I could see by looking up statistics, the average man needs .37 grams per pound of body weight. So I calculated that out. At the time I weighed 350 pounds, that meant I needed 129.5 grams of protein a day just to keep my muscle from living this new lifestyle. I thought to myself how I was going to do this. Before I would have bacon and eggs for breakfast, any type of meat and potato for lunch and of course the big meat meal in the evening. Replacing this was going to be a challenge until I started putting ideas together.

Planning the pre-workout and breakfast meal.

I needed something to give me energy before I went to do my morning treadmill workout. I decided on chia seeds How to gain muscle on a vegan dietmixed into a big batch of organic tea that we always brewed the night before. The chia seeds would soak into the tea. Chia seeds have 6 grams of protein per 2 tbsp serving. One big glass of tea I figured had the 2 tbsp in it, believe me that morning drink was like a shake. LOL! But let me tell you it did the trick. It would provide me with the energy to push through my workout and never had the crash. It was very sustainable. Chia has Omega 3 fatty acid that helped me burn any type of fat instead of storing it.

My after morning workout breakfast was plain and simple oatmeal with a banana cut up inside. My organic oatmeal had 5 grams of protein per a 1/4 cup serving. What I liked most about this meal was because of the low hypoglycemic index that oatmeal has, it didn’t spike my sugar levels. I actually was not hungry through the morning and had no problem making it to lunch. Oatmeal is great also if you incorporate other fruits as well, your choice, I just loved the banana’s.

I had several lunch idea’s for protein as well

Good old peanut butter and jelly! With 7 grams of protein to 2 tbsp per serving, this was a good choice. While everyone else was going to the fast food joint and getting their protein on, I felt I was doing the same. A great lunch option. I watched as everyone ate their burger and I ate the good old PBJ sandwich that something came to my attention. I felt ready to go and energy flowing through my body. Everyone else wanted to take a nap. Curious of your thoughts on this, please comment below if that happens to you. Sometimes though I did need an additional boost or more food. I would always have some almonds available, ( especially dark chocolate coated ). About a 1/4 cup of those and I had an additional 6 grams of protein. Plus I had a bonus of 61% of my daily intake of magnesium which helped my bone health and fought spasms. Almonds had helped curb any sugar cravings I may have been having. Oh ya and one last thing about the almonds, they have Vitamin E which really helps my over all skin and hair health.

The family dinner, we came up with great ideas.

I will say one word, Hummus! This is one of my wife’s favorite foods. We bought a food processor just for this purpose. It does take a little preparation but well worth it. Chick peas are the main ingredient in hummus. You use a half cup you will get about 6 grams of protein. The other main advantage to chick peas is the fiber it provides for you. I’ll tell you it does wonders for me, but I won’t get into that right now. I might chase you away from reading this. LOL.

We tend to use these following products for several combinations of meals.

  • Wild Rice, 1 cup equals 6.5 gramsHow to gain muscle on a vegan diet
  • Potato, 1 medium size has 4 grams
  • Organic Tofu, 8 to 15 grams per 3 oz serving. I use this most of the time for meat and egg substitute
  • Organic Tempeh, 16 grams per 3 oz serving. This one is great for frying, has nutty flavor and has the most protein of all these options. Can I say bacon replacement.
  • Lentils, 9 grams per half cup serving. Very low calorie and high fiber
  • Black beans, 7.6 grams per half cup serving. Also, has high fiber, potassium, folate, and Vitamin B6.

The last 2 options, I make a great vegan burger with that food processor and several other ingredients’s. They taste amazing. You experiment with any of these options you can make some incredible meals. One tip I will give you, make sure you dry the Tofu really well before you cook it and then cook any additional moisture out of it so that it can brown and have meat like texture. OK I’m getting of point. Keep in mind that throughout the day we include lots of other fruits and vegetables that make for healthy eating, plus additional protein. I never feel tired any longer after eating our meals, ever

End of the day I believe we did very well with amount of protein

We started looking up where we were at for protein and I noticed my wife was right in line with about 50 grams a day. For her weight she was right on point. However, I appeared to fall a little short until I realized I was 80 pounds lighter and didn’t need the 129.5 grams any longer. I only needed about 96 grams now. That being said, I work at trying to get a little more protein but at the end of the day I really never lost any muscle mass and in fact, I gained muscle eating this way and working out. I no longer have high blood pressure and I am loosing weight regularly. I have never felt better. I gained muscle on a vegan diet by following a discipline vegan diet. Has anyone else experienced this as well? Please comment and let me know if you would like any recipes, I will be happy to share! If your in need of a reliable food processor I recommend the Cuisinart DFP-14BCNY 14-Cup Food Processor, Brushed Stainless Steel.

Transitioning To A Plant Based Lifestyle

Growing up on a dairy farm and eating all the products we produced, helped me live in a world of dealing with weight issues my entire life. That’s why transitioning to a plant based lifestyle was challenging and an eye-opening experience. However, being told I was on the verge of a stroke made me re-evaluate what I was doing to myself.

Transitioning to a plant based lifestyle may have saved my life.

As I said previously growing up on a farm, I had no idea what I was doing to my body. My weight first of all, could never be controlled. No matter how or what I did, it controlled me. Up and down, diet after diet and still I would loose and then gain it all back. It wasn’t until I really started looking at what I was eating. I realized all I was doing was eating all the wrong fatty foods and worst of all, processed foods! There was one thing I would change it is the processed foods. My blood pressure was at serious high levels and my heart felt like it was going to pop at any second. My family knew this as well. My skin didn’t look good, I had a pale complexion, I looked sick. I didn’t even realize I was feeling this way. Once I decided to make the change, we literally threw out all the meat, dairy, and processed foods. My wife and I had decided enough was enough. We were going to do this forever.

It wasn’t as hard as we thought it would be.

After finding out my health problems we both decided we had to change our life, not just a little but the whole lifestyle. We quickly threw everything away and started clean. First of all was getting over the pizza nights. Which in our house was 2 or 3 nights a week. We decided to replace our pizza with half-baked potatoes. No we didn’t put butter and sour cream on them but we did garnish them with basil, olive oil and different seasonings that we were in the mood for at the time. Just that change alone had me loving our pizza nights again. LOL. We quickly realized that we could do the same with other favorite meals that we loved but didn’t love us. I used to own my own restaurant and did all the cooking. Because of my weight issues and no energy, I gave up on cooking because of laziness. I started incorporating other options that I realized will change how we handle ourselves in the kitchen forever.

Relearning how to cook again

 Learning to cook again

Falling back in love with cooking made our transitioning to a plant based lifestyle so much more fun. I taught myself other alternatives to eggs, like flax seed. Ground flax seed is a perfect replacement for eggs in breads. I now make great homemade bread without dairy and eggs. I didn’t think at first I would like it but when I had made that first bread it was gone in 5 minutes. I had friends over visiting and they couldn’t believe it when I said it was a plant based loaf with no dairy and eggs. They were sold that it can be done. I make a killer zucchini bread as well. Actually get orders from my friends who want me to make it.

One of the biggest problems we had was overcoming coming meat. I had to come up with something. I tried tofu, beans, and other mixtures to try to get something close. It wasn’t until I learned how to cook the tofu that I finally found that alternative. You have to drain and cook all the moisture from it. I will cook it dry, then then put some olive oil in it to get it golden brown. You can add any kind of seasoning, to get the flavor how you like it. My only advice is if your’re doing this because of health reasons, make sure your’re using the right amounts and not over doing it.

I recommend slowly transitioning to a plant based lifestyle.

When we did it, we went cold turkey all the way. We tend to do that and it works for us. If your’re someone who needs to take their time, I would do these slowly at your’re own pace.

  • Cut out the processed foods. You may not realize it but this might be the hardest. Think of all the boxed meals, process meats, even cereals! Do some research on what is in non organic cereals. I think you will be shocked. I’m not going to get into that now. That’s another topic for another time.
  • Cut out the meat or at least work on alternatives like tofu. I found that blending pinto beans, onions, garlic, Healthy Plant Based Lifestylecauliflower, flax seed, and seasonings, I could get a great tasting burger. In the future I will provide some recipes for everyone to consider. Also, I want to add, I worked in a food processing plant in the past, I know what they put in the processed meats. Will never eat that again.

  • Cut out dairy and I mean all dairy. This one will be one that will make you want to give up. But it is the one that I found caused most of my weight issues. Butter, ice cream, milk in cereal, cheese, you name it, dairy is in it. try using alternative milk to start with. We love Almond milk and my absolute favorite is the chocolate almond milk.

At first when we did this I thought oh no I’m not going to enjoy any of my food anymore. I found it to be quite the opposite because of the way I felt after.

Once you feel the way I feel now, you will agree.

I challenge everyone to challenge themselves for one week to cut out all of these products. I lost 30 lbs the first week. But remember I am not a doctor so make sure you check with one before you do anything. I can tell you this by just making a few changes like cutting meat, dairy and processed foods out of you daily routines, the energy you will feel will make you continue. Challenge yourself to transitioning to a plant based lifestyle and experience what I have. My blood pressure is back to normal, I am down 80 lbs, and love spending the time in the kitchen cooking unbelievable healthy meals.

Please ask me anything in the comment section about the transition and I would be happy to help in any way! Love you all and want you to feel the way I feel! Also if you are struggling with the transition, I found this helped me a lot. plantpure has a great programs to help you.
